In 2009, the Delhi police suspected the involvement of Ravi Kapoor and Amit Shukla in the murder case of Jigisha Ghosh. Shockingly, during the investigation, they confessed to the murder of Soumya and described it as a ‘thrilling activity.’
The legal process unfolded when, in June 2010, Delhi police filed a charge sheet against Ravi Kapoor, Amit Shukla, Baljit Malik, and Ajay Sethi in connection with Soumya’s murder. The trial for Soumya’s murder case commenced on November 16, 2010, at Saket Court.

After fifteen years, the Delhi court convicted Kapoor, Shukla, Ajay Kumar, and Malik under sections 302 and 34 for charges of murder and robbery. Ajay Sethi, on the other hand, was convicted under Section 411 of the Indian Penal Code for retaining the vehicle.
