Daler Mehndi, who was imprisoned in Patiala Jail, was admitted to Rajindra Hospital on a sudden night due to ill health. According to reports, Mehndi was taken to the hospital due to a liver problem.

In 2003, Daler Mehndi had come to the US to rob a huge amount of money by falsely promising to take him to America. In 2018, Daler Singh was sentenced to two years in prison by a Patiala court for human trafficking. Then he was arrested and released on bail a few days later, but in 2022 he was sent to jail again to complete his sentence of 2 years.
