Hament was found dead at his residence in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night, 3 October 2022. According to the preliminary police investigation, he was allegedly strangled to death by her domestic help Jasir, who is the prime suspect in the case.
At present Jasir is absconding and raids have been started for his arrest. According to police, Hament was allegedly applying oil to his leg when he died, and then a broken piece of a ketchup bottle was used to slit his throat.
