Drunk Driver Speeds Through Red Light, Kills 3 in Horrific South Florida Crash

What started as just another night in South Florida quickly turned into a heartbreaking tragedy for three families and a stunned community.

Shortly after midnight on January 15, 2025, the peace of the Margate neighborhood near North Rock Island Road and Royal Palm Boulevard was shattered. A silver Honda carrying five people was traveling through the intersection when a speeding black BMW came barreling through a red light and t-boned the Honda with devastating force.

Inside the Honda were Brayan Steven Wilches Nino, 24, Nancy Sanchez, 26, and Diana Carlino Nino Espinosa, 47 — all three lost their lives in that instant.

Two other passengers in the Honda survived, though they were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Police described the scene as “catastrophic.”

The Man Behind the Wheel: A Deadly Choice

The driver of the BMW, identified as Jeremiah Terrance Anderson, 26, of Fort Lauderdale, survived the crash. But according to investigators, his reckless decisions led to the deaths of three innocent people.

Investigators say Anderson was traveling at an alarming 86 mph in a 45 mph zone — nearly double the speed limit. Even more disturbing, toxicology results revealed that he was intoxicated at the time of the crash, with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.152%, almost twice the legal limit. On top of that, THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, was also found in his system.

To make matters worse, Anderson was driving with a suspended license, revoked back in 2022, meaning he should not have been behind the wheel at all.

His passenger later told police that he pleaded with Anderson to slow down multiple times during the ride — pleas that were ignored.

Facing the Consequences

Anderson now faces multiple serious charges, including:

• Three counts of DUI manslaughter

• Vehicular homicide

• DUI causing serious bodily injury

• Driving with a suspended license involving death

• Reckless driving

He is currently being held in Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail, and a court date is pending. Authorities say he showed little emotion upon arrest.
