Florida Man Accused of Luring Victim Into Deadly Ambush Where Five Men Were Waiting, Police Say

Authorities in Florida say a homicide investigation has uncovered a chilling plan in which a man allegedly lured a victim to a remote location, knowing that five other men were waiting there to kill him.

The case is being investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office after the shooting occurred at a rural property commonly referred to by locals as “The Farm” in Putnam County.

Police: Victim Was Set Up

According to investigators, the suspect, Kaleb Austin Kimmell, allegedly convinced the victim, Brandon Randall, to travel to the rural site under false pretenses.

Authorities say Randall believed he was going to meet someone regarding a personal matter. Instead, when he arrived and stepped out of a vehicle, five men were allegedly lying in wait.

Detectives claim the group immediately opened fire, killing Randall at the scene.

Alleged Motive Under Investigation

Law enforcement officials believe the ambush may have been connected to a prior dispute involving someone close to one of the suspects. While investigators have not publicly released all details, court documents indicate the killing may have been an act of retaliation.

Officials are reviewing phone records, digital communications, and witness statements to piece together how the alleged plot was organized and carried out.

Multiple Suspects Identified

Authorities say at least five individuals were involved in the shooting. Arrests have been made, and additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.

The suspects are expected to face serious charges, including first-degree murder and conspiracy. As with all criminal cases, those charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Community Reaction

Residents in Putnam County have expressed shock at the coordinated nature of the crime. The idea that someone could be deliberately lured into an ambush has raised concerns about personal safety and trust.

Local officials are urging anyone with additional information about the case to contact law enforcement.

Ongoing Investigation

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office continues to gather evidence and conduct interviews. Prosecutors are expected to present the case before a grand jury as the legal process moves forward.

Authorities emphasize that premeditated acts of violence carry severe penalties under Florida law, especially when multiple suspects are involved.
