He produced and distributed films under the banner of “Chandrakanth Films”. “Vaishali” (1988) and “Sukrutham” (1994) are the major films produced by him.

He has also acted in a few films in the lead role in Subhadram (2007). Ramachandran was arrested in 2015 in a case of financial fraud and was released in 2018 after 3 years of imprisonment in Dubai.

In 1974, he moved to Kuwait City to work at the Commercial Bank of Kuwait. He assumed the position of Administration Manager of the International Division. He resigned from the commercial bank to focus only on the jewelery business and movies. At the time of his resignation, he was one of the most respected and highly paid bank managers in Kuwait.
